Remember the days when our moms put shoulder pads in their jackets? Well ladies, that trend may be well on a comeback.
Cristophe Decarnin's Spring-Summer 09 collection for Balmain (the one with Michael Jackson-esque jackets) made such a giant buzz that even Paris Vogue snatched up this trend for their May issue. Needless to say, big, bold, androgynous shoulders are on the horizon. And it's just the beginning!
A little sneak peek at what's in store for the Fall season suggest the 80's addiction with gender blurring. That means boyfriend jackets, strong shoulders, and rough-and-tough chic all wrapped in one season. So ladies, get ready to raid your boyfriend's closet. Rack up on your fall arsenal because it will be one rowdy year.
But I can't help but beg the question: is it too much looking back? Too much of the past creeping up? I mean, I really don't want to see 80's MJ walking past me any time soon.
