Trend of the Moment: Futurism Now!

I don't know if you guys notice anything funky this season. It's not a bad thing just so you know, but I have the eerie feeling that futurism is the season's main trend, from the blockbuster hits in Hollywood to the runways in Paris.

Don't believe me? Then go to the theatres right this minute and tell me what most people are watching--"Star Trek"! In fact, more futuristic movies are on the queue, namely "Terminator Salvation" and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

In addition, the latest Spring-Summer collections from the Paris runways procured the same vibe as these films. A glaring example is Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière. His sci-fi vision just gave us earthlings future, metallics, and Lurex galore! A quick look at his collection and you'll swear they just came off The Enterprise.

Also, don't forget the auto industry! Sure, American automakers are on the endangered species list, but Ford Motors' Lincoln division ventured outer space for design inspiration. Check out their latest commercial!

So do you think it's time for us to embrace all the futuristic trends? Ready to hit the streets in CP30 leggings? Maybe...not.
